How to capitalise on festival season - Telegraph

Open your doors, throw a party, join in the festival season. Even in a sluggish property market, summer events can create a buzz. “Summer festivals bring areas into focus,” says George Wade of house-finders Property Vision.
“Some people fill their houses with hordes of party people. It keeps the restaurants filled, the bed and breakfasts busy, brings live-wires together and has lots of economic spin-offs.”
For some home owners, living in the catchment of a festival also provides a welcome windfall. They may let a room or even move out to let the entire house during the season. Research by County Homesearch shows that average rental values increase by at least 20 per cent while the fun is in progress.
