Agents not impressed by council estate agency

Many agents feel as though they have been stabbed in the back after most supported the Conservatives in the electon. The government is doing little for private housing to upturn the market and now a Welsh council has set up its own residential estate agency which also offers financial advice and mortgage services.

The agency, which advertises itself as offering an “affordable alternative option”, also incorporates a lettings and property management business. Property Bay Wales has been launched by Neath Port Talbot Council, attempts to undercut other local agents by charging a fixed fee of £899.
