Can I reclaim cash landlord charged for 'repairs?' | This is Money

Can I reclaim cash landlord charged for 'repairs?' | This is Money

From March 2009 until June 2010 I was renting a one bedroom flat in Fulham and had to move because of work. When I left, £120 was deducted from my deposit for 'repairs'.

Early in November 2010, I was looking to move back to the area and saw that the very same flat was once again on the market.

I arranged a viewing but when I got there I saw that none of the repairs that I had been billed for were ever carried out. How can I reclaim this money? D.G., London.

  1. You paid for the damages that you had done. That is fair undr the agreement. If the landlord has not spent the money on the repair yet us another matter. It's his property and not yours.
