Desperate developers offer first-time buyers loans for new homes | Mail Online
Jilly Lang and Steven Montgomery were among the lucky first-time buyers of 2010 — but thousands of others will face an uphill battle this year.
Research from the Halifax suggests that the typical home bought by a first-time buyer has risen to £138,682, roughly 6.6 times the annual salary of a full time worker in their 20s.
Lang and Montgomery, who have moved from Glasgow to Northampton, used a loan scheme from Barratt Homes.
