How do I sell a flat that is above an off license? | Money | guardian.co.uk
Q I currently own a large Victorian flat on a side street above an off license in an up-and-coming area of south London and recently found when I tried to sell it that two sets of very eager buyers were unable to get a mortgage from any lender (and they tried a number of lenders). The lenders arrived to do the valuation and did not even come inside the flat once they saw it was above an off license, they just said they would not offer a mortgage on the property simply because it is above an off license.
