JD Wetherspoon fights 'greedy' developer - Telegraph
The pub chain which Mr Martin set up filed a writ at the High Court against property entrepreneur, Anthony Lyons, over his alleged part in the "fraudulent and dishonest" sale of pubs to Wetherspoon by the company's then advisor Van de Berg.
In 2009 Wetherspoon successfully sued property agent Van de Berg and its founder, Christian Braun, for fraudulently and dishonestly advising on property transactions over a number of years.
The case hinged on Van de Berg breaching its exclusivity agreement with Wetherspoon by selling pubs it was going to lease to Wetherspoon to third parties.
