Property market 'hit by weather'

Property market 'hit by weather'

Last month's extreme weather conditions had a severe impact on the housing market, contributing to the lowest number of sales in nearly eight years.

This is according to research from the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), which said the average property agent sold just four homes in December 2010.

Although market activity traditionally subsides as the Christmas period approaches, the expected slowdown was exacerbated by the widespread snow and ice, which disrupted travel networks across the UK.
