Manchester's office property market will be the hottest in the UK this year.
That is the claim from two groups of researchers who say Manchester will be the fastest growing city in the country in 2011.
Last year, Manchester’s city centre office market hit a 20-year high, recording more deals and new lettings than any year since 1990.
Demand for city centre offices was strong enough to keep rents up, but in other cities rents fell, because demand was too weak, said the experts.
Manchester was the only UK city outside of London where office rents held steady during 2010, according to Drivers Jonas Deloitte’s UK Key Cities report. Rents held at £28.50 a sq ft – but fell in every other major City.
