Social media sites boost Rightmove traffic | The Negotiator Magazine

Social media sites boost Rightmove traffic | The Negotiator Magazine

The volume of traffic Rightmove has received from Twitter and Facebook over the last year has tripled.

The portal attributes the growth to recent social media developments, including its Facebook ‘Like’ button, which has been added to every property listing to allow buyers to add their favoured properties to their own Facebook page. Some 15,000 ‘Likes’ were recorded last month alone.

Meanwhile, Rightmove’s Twitter account features new listings in specific locations.

Miles Shipside, Rightmove’s commercial director, says: “Social media websites are highly influential, and they have the potential to play a significant role in the home-hunting process. The growing numbers of visitors we are receiving via social media are highly engaged and are delivering enquiries.”
