Driving through the electric gates down the long, curving drive to Lodge Down House, you would have to be of a very envious frame of mind to begrudge the material success of its owner.

This 6,500sq ft country mansion and 110 acres, with spectacular views over the Wiltshire/ Berkshire Downs towards Lambourn, provide lodgings for the jump racing legend AP 'Tony' McCoy OBE - the first jockey ever to be given the accolade of BBC Sports Personality of the Year, which he won last year.

For the past 15 seasons, Anthony Peter McCoy, from County Antrim in Northern Ireland, has been the champion national hunt jockey, winning more than 3,000 races including all the biggest: the Cheltenham Gold Cup, the King George VI Chase and the Grand National last year.
