BoE Governor Meryvn King warns on risk of new banks crisis | This is Money
The Governor of the Bank of England has launched a blistering attack on banks for simply trying to 'maximise profits next week' and for preying on the 'gullible or unsuspecting'.
Mervyn King, who will soon take over regulation of banks from the Financial Services Authority, also questioned the on-going practice of payment by bonuses - expected to have bounced back to £7bn this year - and warned that the same risks remain that could drive Britain to another financial crisis.
