Generous tax break for holiday home owners will go in just two weeks | Mail Online
Holiday home owners have less than two weeks to benefit from enhanced tax breaks on repairs to their properties.
Landlords who let out holiday accommodation can offset the cost of repairs, furniture and fittings against capital gains tax when they sell and use losses to lower their annual income tax bill.
Around 65,000 families currently benefit from the Furnished holiday Letting (FHL) rules, saving an estimated £30 million a year in tax. These rules apply to holiday lets in the UK and anywhere in the European economic Area.
