The solid rise of Kate Middleton’s parents up the social order is poised to take an unexpected leap.
For I can reveal that Carole and Michael Middleton have been to look over a substantial manor house up for sale with a price tag close to £5million.
And in a piquant twist, the house in question used to be owned by Camilla Parker Bowles at the height of her affair with Prince Charles.
For more than 20 years, the Middletons have lived contentedly in a leafy commuter village not far from Reading.
