propertytalk Live! - Campaign aims to keep rural housing affordable
An initiative to put local communities at the heart of building new affordable homes in the countryside has been launched in the House of Commons.
"The rural pledge" was this week introduced at an event for rural MPs by the National Housing Federation’s "Rural Alliance", a collection of more than 40 housing associations developing and managing affordable homes in rural areas.
The Alliance, which provides a collective voice for rural housing associations, has drawn up the "Affordable homes for local people" pledge in an effort to tackle the problem of affordable housing in the countryside.
