You might expect to find actor Peter Firth – the young lead in countless Seventies films and the spy chief Harry Pearce in BBC1's Spooks – to have made his home in a grand house in a fashionable part of London.
But for the past four years Firth, who is currently appearing in BBC1's drama South Riding, has been living alone in a modest three-bedroom maisonette in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, which he has just put on the market for £550,000.
