I went to view a home advertised at £130,000 that I hoped to be able to buy for £125,000 to avoid stamp duty.
The property was very run down and I intended to take my time renovating it.
However, the agent told me the seller had decided to put in gas central heating, a new bathroom and kitchen and raised the price to £135,000.
