Even the Cotswolds are feeling the pinch: TV¿s Linzi Boyd faces up to making a loss on her ¿dream country home¿ near Stroud | Mail Online

Cotswolds estate agents like to boast that the local market is the last to slide into recession and first to recover, but now it seems even this gold-plated hotspot is slipping.

One couple who are facing a loss when they sell are TV presenter Linzi Boyd and her husband Gary Ward. They put their five-bedroom home in the village of France Lynch, near Stroud, on the market for £545,000 in November and this month reduced it to £525,000.

Linzi, 37, and Gary, 35, a therapist, bought the house for £485,000 in 2009 and spent £25,000 on improvements.
Factoring in the £15,000 stamp duty they paid and the estate agent fees they will owe, they will emerge at least £5,000 worse off if they get their revised asking price.
