Former Tory Minister and Strictly Come Dancing star Ann Widdecombe is choreographing a conversion of her Devon holiday home.
The 63-year-old, who left the Commons last May, is transforming a Fifties bungalow.
'It’s still chaos with builders everywhere,’ says Ann of the four-bedroom Haytor property she bought for £600,000 in 2008.
‘I’d say I’m on phase three out of five but hopefully this time next year the thing should be done.’
As well as adding a second storey giving views over Dartmoor and sea views to Torquay, she’s added a swimming pool, conservatory, updated the kitchen and bathroom, and converted a recording studio into a library.
‘I’ve designed everything and it looks more old-fashioned now, which is just how I like it.’
