The television theme tune famously states “everybody needs good neighbours”. But not all of us have them.

Disputes can arise over anything from fences to overhanging branches. Some of the most common, however, are about noise.

Arguments over noise can be long-running and hostile, with the potential to destroy strong friendships. But trying to solve such arguments amicably is often easier said than done.
