Green deal: Home loans will not affect credit rating | This is Money
Loans that will be made available to householders to make their homes energy efficient under the government's flagship environmental policy will not count against their credit rating.
As details of the 'green deal' scheme were revealed today, the energy minister said the government-backed loans will 'not be like a conventional loan'.
'It will not be a loan,' said Greg Barker. 'It will not count against people's credit rating... The fact is you should be better off from day one.'
