House price optimism returns - Telegraph

Around 32pc said they thought property values would increase in the next 12 months, compared with only 23pc who thought they would fall and 26pc who thought they would be broadly unchanged, according to high street bank Halifax.

People are more optimistic about house prices in their local area, with 35pc expecting the cost of property to increase where they live and only 18pc predicting falls.

But regardless of whether they feel positive or negative about the market, the majority of people are not expecting big price swings, with 57pc expecting changes to range from rises of 5pc to falls of 5pc, and only 24pc are expecting bigger changes.
