Ladies first: New generation of young FABs (female and buying) pip men to the first time buyer post | Mail Online
When it comes to getting a foot on the property ladder, young women are racing ahead of their male counterparts with 1.8 million between 18-34 clamoring to invest in their first property.
A new survey from Post Office Mortgages indicates that more than 28 per cent of young women as opposed to 20 per cent of young men will look to buy in the immediate future.
This new generation of 'FABs' (female and buying) are also on average a year younger than prospective male buyers, but it seems that both sexes have lowered their expectations as they sacrifice living in a fashionable area as they struggle to find an affordable property.
