Property advice: Do we need to line the chimney for our wood-burning stove? - Telegraph

Q We have used a wood-burning stove for six years. It has a short run of pipe leading into a register plate and then an open chimney about seven metres to the top. We only burn well-seasoned wood and try to ensure the stove is always run quite hot. Our sweep keeps telling us to have the chimney lined, and we have now had visits from three different people who specialise in this kind of work. They all recommend a stainless steel double-skin flexible liner, but there is no consensus on which specification of liner to use.
