Sellers lower asking prices by almost £4,000 in a month as Rightmove reports record number of homes unsold | Mail Online
House sellers may finally be ready to lower prices in the stand-off with buyers after figures from property website Rightmove showed the first fall in asking prices this year.
Rightmove reported that the average asking price dropped by 1.6% - or £3,797 - to £236,597 in July.
Rightmove, which collects data from estate agents, said that number of unsold properties on agents' books had reached a record average of 78. Some 70 per cent of properties put up for sale this year have failed to find a buyer.
