Wandsworth: House prices on the rise in Nappy Valley - Telegraph

If you think prime central London is the only housing market in Britain that is red-hot right now, think again. South of the Thames, in Wandsworth, there is a property frenzy going on.

The borough has long been celebrated for bringing the country to the city thanks to its large parks, while its successful schools have led Wandsworth to be given the nickname Nappy Valley by families who have moved there. Now it is poised to earn an international reputation as the location for the $1 billion high-security American embassy to be built near Battersea Power Station with a 100ft moat.

All this has had only one effect on house prices – to push them up, despite a slowdown in many locations across the country.
