Commercial Property News - Young residential property buyers advised to look north
Young people who are desperate to secure their first residential property have been advised that it may be easier to do so in the north of England than the south.
New research by Halifax has concluded that the youngest first-time buyers in the UK can be found in Selby, North Yorkshire, where people typically get on the property ladder at 25.
However, spots such as Harrow in London are defined by purchasers who must wait until they are 34 in order to be able to afford a home.
There are plenty of locations where first-time buyers are young, including Redcar, Cleveland, Bolsover, South Ribble and Barrow-in-Furness, all of which recorded average first-time buyers who were 26.
