Increasing number of people struggle to pay the rent as prices continue to soar | Mail Online
A leading charity has seen an 84 per cent increase in the number of people calling for help with rent arrears since the onset of the recession, as they struggle to control their finances.
Debt advice charity National Debtline, has seen the figures rise dramatically as an increasing amount of people join the rental market each year, with very few able to leave the market by getting a mortgage.
The English Housing Survey released at the start of the year showed that the number renting in England has increased by around 40 per cent since 2005.
