Nationwide: House prices tumble £3,000 in a month as job losses dampen demand | Mail Online
House prices fell by almost £3,000 in the past month and values could drop further if weakness in the economy translates into higher unemployment, according to Nationwide.
The building society today reported that prices fell by 0.6 per cent between July and August. It means the average price of a home fell by £2,817 in the month - down to £165,914 from £168,731.
Prices are down 0.4 per cent annually.
Nationwide said that the property market continued to be sluggish, with prices showing 'relatively stability'.
