According to research from Knight Frank, places with Michelin-starred restaurants and a vibrant foodie culture have outperformed the rest of the property market in the past decade, sometimes by as much as 20 per cent.
The Thames-side village of Bray, home to The Fat Duck, which has three Michelin stars, has outperformed the surrounding area by 16 per cent since chef/patron Heston Blumenthal secured that third star in 2004 (Bray already had the three-star Waterside Inn).
