Minister calls for unprecedented 30-year fixed rate mortgage deals | Mail Online

Mortgages with rates fixed for as long as 30 years are being called for by housing minister Grant Shapps to help families struggling to organise tight budgets.

To encourage greater market stability, Shapps will today urge lenders to provide much longer-term fixed deals as a 'normal and sensible choice'.

There are currently no mortgages with guaranteed lifelong interest rates and any longer term deals usually require hefty deposits
