Nationwide says housing market remains 'resilient' as report reveals property prices are up 1.6% in a year | Mail Online
The housing market has remained ‘surprisingly resilient’ during November as the average property value increased by 0.4 per cent - or £148 - in the past month, according to Nationwide.
The price of a typical home is now £165,798, 1.6 per cent higher than a year ago according to the monthly Nationwide House Price Index. The annual price rise is an improvement on 0.8 per cent from October.
These positive set of figures come shortly after the Government announced proposals to underwrite mortgages for first-time buyers to help stimulate and 'unstick' the housing market.
