Rising rents and train fares leave a generation in a Catch 22 situation for buying a home - This is Money

Rising rents and train fares leave a generation in a Catch 22 situation for buying a home - This is Money

I have recently moved into London after two years of commuting. Two years of misery, costing me £100 a week and three hours of my time a day, not to mention my sanity.
That commute cost me £400 a month.

I am now renting a flat with my girlfriend at the princely cost of £1,000pcm. Add to this the other bills, and you’re talking about £650 a month each.
