Rents dip as landlords avoid empty properties over Christmas but prices still up 3.5% this year | Mail Online
A seasonal dip in rents provided a small respite for tenants in November, leaving the average monthly rent £25 more expensive than it was this time last year, statistics have found.
Last month saw the first month-on-month fall in rental prices since January 2011.
However, the drop in prices is likely to have been caused by landlords looking to avoid vacant properties over the Christmas period and tenant activity slowing down in the run-up to the New Year.
LSL Property Services said the typical rent in England and Wales dropped by -0.4 per cent to £717 a month in November.
