In the latest twist to the Lord's controversy, Mr Hussey's property company Almacantar said in a statement on Thursday night that its lawyers, Berwin Leighton Paisner, have issued a "formal letter before claim" to the MCC to "recover the abortive costs in connection with the 'Vision for Lord's'".
Almacantar was hired by the MCC, owners of Lord's, to redevelop the site and has not been paid for drawing up plans for the £400m project.
The company is thought to have spent around £750,000 on the Lord's project, which was controversially thrown out by the MCC last year after months of planning.
