£174billion wiped off Britons' wealth last year - Mirror Online`

BRITS saw more than £170billion wiped off their wealth last year, a report has revealed.
A study by Lloyds TSB calculated that households had assets worth a mind-boggling £6.6trillion at the end of 2011.
However, a huge drop in house prices and the value of investments means that’s £174billion less than in 2010.
With property prices continuing to fall and the stock market tumbling in the wake of the worsening eurozone crisis, the value will have come down even more.
The report claims that the value of shares and other equity owned by households fell by 10% last year, or £65billion.
