Henley on Thames - Neighbours object to second bid for ‘back land’ houses

NEIGHBOURS and councillors have objected to plans to build four “back land” homes in Henley.

Three families living in Elizabeth Road have applied for planning permission for the second time to develop their gardens.

The two detached three-bedroom and two semi-detached two-bedroom houses would be built behind Windyridge, Willows and Dormers.

A year ago, Henley Town Council voted unanimously to recommend the application was refused, saying the developments would set a worrying precedent for the area.

They said the new properties would be over-intensive and unneighbourly, leading to a loss of amenities for neighbours through light and noise pollution, and pose a risk to animal habitats.
