At one point during Tuesday’s concert, all five top Twitter trending topics in London were related to performer Cliff Richard, with themes including the singer’s classic ‘Wired for Sound’.
Earlier Jubilee Concert performers fared less well, however. Will.i.am, star of BBC One singing contest The Voice, and Cheryl Cole, an X-Factor judge, were widely regarded as competing for the worst performance of the evening. When the Black Eyed Peas singer joined Stevie Wonder on stage to sing Happy Birthday, actor Joe Dempsie tweeted “Will-I-am get off Stevie's stage”.
