Tokyo tops Mercer world cost of living survey while London is cheaper than Beijing | Mail Online
London is now cheaper to live in than fast-growing Chinese cities Beijing and Shanghai.
This summer's Olympics host ranks 25th in a cost of living analysis of 214 cities by consultancy Mercer - although the results are skewed by the current U.S. dollar exchange rate with different countries.
With Mercer's findings based on costs experienced by an American visitor, the weaker pound against the US dollar drove the decline in London's position.
