West Country property: something about Salcombe - Telegraph

Stand aside Sandbanks, there’s a new king of the South West. Nestled between Plymouth and Paignton, in the South Hams, Salcombe has become the millionaire’s playground of the West Country.
While house prices drop off around most of the country, the little sailing town is bucking the trend. In a recent survey by property website Primelocation, Salcombe came ninth in a list of British towns ranked by the proportion of houses worth more than £1 million. The other towns on the list, such as Virginia Water in Surrey and Ascot in Berkshire, were all within commuting distance of London.
