House prices stutter last month as transactions hit near-low levels | This is Money

House prices fell for the first time on a monthly basis since last year and transaction levels fell to the second lowest monthly level since 1995, according to the LSL House Price Index.
But despite a small 0.1 per cent fall in property prices in June, values are actually up three per cent on an annual basis, as ‘prime’ home sales propped up the market.
The report said that the average property value last month was £224,102, down slightly from the £224,246 recorded in May. This compared to £218,795 in July last year.
