Playing the name game with your property - Telegraph

Playing the name game with your property - Telegraph

Anyone looking for evidence that people buying houses are creatures of whim, capable of buying properties simply because its owner makes them a nice cup of tea, need look no further than a new survey by the website www.globrix.com.

One in 14 of those questioned said that they would be prepared to pay more for a house if it had a name, not a number.

Do people read these questionnaires properly before deciding which box to tick? Their answers imply that, if the owners of 73 Station Road, Huddersfield, were to rebrand their house as Willow Cottage, they could charge more for it. Even if it was a pebble-dash semi and the nearest willow was in Bradford.
