Tesco warns of further delay in its plan to move into the mortgage market | Mail Online

Tesco has warned of a further delay in its plans to move into the mortgage market after experiencing huge complications building its financial services arm.

Andrew Higginson, head of retail services, said he expected the launch of mortgage products, planned for this summer, to happen in early autumn.
Current accounts are not expected to be available until a year later.

The launch of Tesco mortgage was previously expected before Christmas.
The supermarket giant has sought to quash speculation that tougher Financial Services Authority rules were to blame for delays.
