An uprising by the ‘Chipping Norton Set’ has led to a row with the RAF over vital training exercises for crews preparing for missions to Afghanistan.
David Cameron’s affluent Oxfordshire neighbours are furious about the noise from 33 Hercules aircraft stationed at RAF Brize Norton, just a few miles from the Prime Minister’s constituency home.
The base has received more than 50 complaints since the transport planes were moved from RAF Lyneham in Wiltshire.
