House asking prices rise in August as gap between buyer and seller expectations widens, says Rightmove | Mail Online

The gulf between the price homeowners expect to sell their properties for and what buyers are prepared to pay widened in the last month, according to a new survey.

The figures from property website Rightmove indicate that seller asking prices have rose 0.7 per cent in the last month, an average of £1,596.
That comes despite other house price measures, including ationwide and Halifax, pointing to falling prices over the summer.

Rightmove reported asking prices rising in the past month following drops in the previous two months. It leaves asking prices 3 per cent lower, or £7,255, over the past three months as the market continues to stagnate.
