Renters spend 22% of their salary on accommodation ¿ and the figure is set to rise to 33% by 2020 | Mail Online

The average UK renter now spends nearly 22 per cent of their take-home salary on accommodation and this figure is set to rise to 33 per cent this decade, according to research.
Rental website Easyroommate.co.uk found that the UK average spend on renting a room is £365 per month – 21.9 per cent of the average UK net monthly income of £1,665.
However, with flat share rents currently rising at nearly 5 per cent each year compared to annual pay growth of just 2.8 per cent, renters will face spending 22.9 per cent of their take home wage on rents next year.
