With the average age of first-time buyers now 31, one can't imagine that Jenny Brown is terribly popular with her friends. At just 26, she is already selling her third property - this time for £1.25million.

'Most of my friends are renting or still living at home with their parents,' she says, relaxing on a plush leather sofa in her high-tech Dutch barn in the Cotswolds. The sofa is just one of her purchases from a £50,000 splurge in the soft-furnishings department at Harrods.

While Jenny's good fortune is in part due to her high-flying financier partner Alex, 28 - they met on their second day at Sheffield University - she has had a nose for property since her student days. While studying biomedicine, she also worked part-time as an estate agent.
