Does a bad survey have to end a homebuying dream? | Mail Online

Buying a home can be a frustrating experience. You can spend months searching for the right property to meet your needs and speaking to lenders to obtain the funding, only to see hopes shattered when the result of the building survey for your dream home is not positive.
But buyers should not necessarily just walk away from the property after a bad survey – instead they should consider finding out how much repairs would be to fix, according to Buss Murton Law LLP.
Gemma Blizard, a solicitor at the firm, says that there is no harm asking a local builder, electrician or plumber to give an opinion on the work that has been identified and how urgently it would need remedying. While some already do this, many walk away out of pocket.
