Markit/CIPS: Building sector growth slows to raise fears of new recession | Mail Online
Growth in the construction sector slowed last month, a new survey has revealed, fuelling fears of a contraction in the overall economy and a ew recession.
The latest reading from the respected Markit/CIPS survey, in which a reading above 50 represents expansion, fell to 52.3 from the five-month high of 53.9 in October.
A surge in new business orders helped boost the construction sector in November, but further progress was held back by a slowdown in commercial-based activity.
