London house prices ‘to force families exodus’ - London - News - Evening Standard

London faces an “exodus” of young families as property prices force hundreds of thousands of people out of the capital, research suggests today.

Campaigners warned that London’s housing crisis risked robbing a generation of the chance to call the city home and urged the incoming mayor to use new powers to tackle it.

A survey found that almost a third of London’s adults — about 1.8 million people — expect to leave the capital because of housing costs. The average age they expect to move is 44, by which time many of them will be parents.
