No relief for renters as landlords plan to raise rates again¿ even though they have already hit a record high | Mail Online

Four in ten tenants are likely to see their rent increase again in the next year, a new survey of landlords suggests.

Average rents have soared to a record high of £725 a month in England and Wales, thanks to fierce competition from tenants who cannot get on the property ladder.

However the increases are not over yet, the survey from lettings network LSL Property Services found. Four in ten landlords said they plan to put up rents in the coming 12 months, by an average of 4.5 per cent.
